Community with a Vision
The AYC is a youth-run civic group that allows you the opportunity to voice your opinions and ideas, meet new people and experience new things!
Increase youth participation in the Avondale community
Encourage youth to used their leadership skills to envision, plan and implement change
Give youth a platform and format to express their thoughts and concerns
Teach youth to maintain a business, gain entrepreneurial and customer service skills
Create a youth council that models the Avondale Community Council
Goals

BUILD SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE DECISION-MAKERS AND PROBLEM SOLVERS.

Developed and Implemented an Anti-Litter Campaign

PURPOSE
Our purpose is grounded in merging leadership development, civic engagement, volunteer opportunities, personal development, cultural awareness and social skills to improve the day lives of our youth.
VISION
The Youth Council provides students with social activities in a safe and positive environment, while promoting individual self-esteem and leadership through participation in meetings, event and community service projects. The AYC will offer an open forum to foster communication, education and information concerning youth and youth-related issues. Students will be encouraged to develop, plan and implement their ideas.
