Our Board

Patricia MiltonPatricia Milton (President)- Patricia leads by example serving as President of the Avondale Community Council (ACC) since 2005 and prior served on the board for 4 years. Patricia works diligently contributing countless hours volunteering. Under her leadership the ACC joined in partnership with neighboring institutions and will look beyond brick & mortar projects to focus on the systemic changes needed to improve residents lives.

Patricia is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati DAAP with a degree in Design. Patricia work has worked as an Interior Decorator specializing in Residential Re-Design. Patricia has a passion for Community Engagement Training. Upon completion of extensive NeighborWorks and other trainings, she has ventured out as a consultant to help train others in community leadership. Under her tenure the community participated in a 15 month planning process, which birthed the Avondale Comprehensive Development Corporation. The ACDC has full time employees dedicated to working toward improving the lives of Avondale residents.

Vision for Avondale: "Avondale will become the premier multi-cultural urban community living experience. Fabulous housing stock, walkable, safe streets, unique shopping, choice restaurants and a weekend destination for the city."

Fulton JeffersonFulton Jefferson Jr. (Vice President)- Most Avondale residents know Fulton as the "Mayor of Avondale". He is a retired Drill Sergeant from the United States Marine Corps. In 1998 when Fulton returned to Cincinnati he was upset with the condition Avondale was in. This prompted him to join the Avondale Community Council to help make a BIG change in the community. Besides being the "Go To Guy", Fulton is one of the founders of the Avondale Youth Council and works with diligence and dedication to make sure our youth have opportunities and experiences they might not otherwise be exposed to through their many projects in the community.

Vision for Avondale: "To see Avondale acknowledged by the City, Institutions and Foundations as a community where their investments will allow the community to progress. Investments in Avondale are needed so the community can change and be in step with current times."

Terresa AdamsTerresa Adams (Trustee)- Has been on the Avondale Community Council board since 2005 and is former chair of the finance committee. Terresa was asked to serve on the board by a former ACC President. She accepted because her church, Manifested Glory Ministries is located in Avondale and she wanted to get more involved. She continues to serve on the board because she is working with individuals who want to make a difference in maintaining a vibrant and thriving African American community. Terresa serves on the board of two not-for-profit organizations and enjoys reading John Grisham novels.

Vision for Avondale: "To see Avondale regain the beauty and resourcefulness it had many years ago. To have residents support business that produce economic stability that leads to financial community growth."

Sheila Holmes HowardSheila Holmes Howard (Secretary)- Sheila was appointed to the ACC board in 2004 motivated by her desire to learn more about the community. She has been very active, involved, committed and dedicated ever since. As a 11 year resident and homeowner in Avondale, Sheila and her husband Greg have seen tremendous growth in this neighborhood. Sheila, a Real Estate Sales Consultant has been in the real estate industry for the past 27 years. She has assisted buyers and sellers with all their needs including most recently Pre-Foreclosure and Home Retention solutions.

Vision for Avondale: "To see continued growth of homeownership and responsible landlords of rental properties. Vibrant Business Districts on Burnet Ave & Reading Road, healthy families, great educational opportunities for children/young adults and a safe community. The Best Place to Live, Work, Play, Worship and Volunteer in Cincinnati!"

Linda MayfieldLinda Mayfield (Membership Chair)- Has resided in Avondale for 22 years. She decided it was time to "do" something, to become involved and serve in the workings toward enhancement, growth, and renaissance needed to make the Avondale community more welcoming and vibrant. Linda spent 33+ years working for City of Cincinnati. Linda enjoys science-fiction movies.

Vision for Avondale: "Changes and improvements resulting in a diverse, comfortable, clean, safe, picturesque community consisting of great housing, green spaces, entertainment, with bustling and varying business venues that "draw" people. More resident involvement would make a big difference. These all impact our community's image and perception."

Tony MooreTony Moore (Treasurer)- He has been married for over 22 years and has been blessed with three sons. He received a Bachelors degree from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Business. Tony currently owns the Avondale Mart located at 553 Ridgeway Ave. in Avondale.

Vision for Avondale: "My vision for Avondale would be to see more business leaders and owners that live in Avondale utilize their talents to help this community."

Tommy NeilTommy Neil (Trustee)- In November of 2014, Tommy was appointed to board of the Avondale Community Council. He is a graduate of the University Of Cincinnati College Of Applied Science, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Tommy works as a Program Integrator for Belcan Engineering at General Electric. Also, as an Independent Associate with LegalShield, Tommy provides small businesses, families and individuals access to affordable quality legal services and identity theft protection. Tommy has lived in Avondale for the past 15 years and is a member of the Avondale 29 Group, a coalition of residents and homeowners committed to enhancing and improving the quality of life in Avondale and to "Making Avondale a Most Livable Community."

Kelly RobinsonKelly Robinson (Trustee) Kelly Robinson became a Trustee of the Avondale Community Council in 2009. Kelly is Senior Project Manager, Cradle to Career Network for StriveTogether. As Senior Project Manager she works to support communities building cradle to career partnerships focused on improving educational outcomes for children. She is passionate about volunteering and making her community a better place. She received her B.S. in Broadcasting from Belmont University and earned a M.A. in Television, Radio & Film from Syracuse University.

Vision for Avondale: For Avondale to become a bustling neighborhood in the heart of Cincinnati where people can live, work, play, worship and volunteer.

Christopher HeaterChristopher Heater (Trustee) Christopher is a longtime resident of Avondale, graduate of Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati with BA in African Studies. He worships at Rockdale Baptist Church and is a former member at Southern Baptist Church. Christopher personally enjoys seeing organizations that are focused on community uplift and progress.

Vision for Avondale: "For Avondale to function effectively as a Spiritual, Communal, Commercial, and Academic bright spot in the city. A place that fosters and develops active citizens, political and economically, and becomes a place that attracts all walks of life to engage in the many facets the neighborhood will have to offer. I want Avondale to be the place to be."

Charles HoustonCharles Houston (Trustee) Charles is a versatile, seasoned, Human Services, Crime Prevention Manager Specialist, with a diverse background in Criminal Justice, Education, Law Enforcement, and Guidance Counseling. He works effectively with diverse client populations with the ability to handle difficult caseloads. He is accustomed to managing multiple projects, working autonomously or with groups. Charles brings to the Avondale Community Council a strong ability in problem solving methodology with the ability to maintain positive community and work-force relationships.

Vision for Avondale: Using his skill set and strong ability in problem solving methodology to help maintain positive community and work-force opportunities for residents.

Michele Taylor-MitchellMichele Taylor-Mitchell (Trustee) Michelle is a second generation Cincinnatian and a resident of Avondale for over forty years. She attended Rockdale and Rockdale Temple Elementary schools in the 1950’s and Samuel Ach and Hughes in the 1960. She graduated from University of Cincinnati in 1976 with a degree in social work. She has four children, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Michelle previously served as an ACC board member 1996-2005. She is a member of the Contact Center, Cincinnati Black United Front, Coalition for a Just Cincinnati and the Community Police Partnering Center.

Vision for Avondale: A safe and vibrant Avondale where people walk down the street and don’t think twice about their safety.

Sandra JonesSandra Jones (Trustee) Sandra M. Jones is a professional advocate for senior citizens. In, 1975 her first job was preparing hot meals for senior citizens. For the next few years, she works with Cincinnati Veteran Administration Hospital again, assisting the elderly to and from their doctor appointment within the hospital. In 1986, she worked in a nursing home in the Avondale community, as an Activity Coordinator. In, 1988 Sandra began her career with Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, until this day assisting individual with disabilities stay connected to the community. In 1993, she co-founded Serving Older Adults through Changing Times, advocating for older adults in maintaining their independence and a vital part of our community. The love and passion for older adults had a major impact on her returning to, The College of Mount Saint Joseph to earn a bachelor in Gerontology in, 2003. Avondale has the second largest senior population in Cincinnati. Sandra is a tireless advocate on behalf of our seniors and believes our elders are vital to our community and should be recognized and respected as community gems.

Ronald JacksonRonald C. Jackson (Trustee) An Avondale Resident, is also a member of the Beechwood Resident Council, serving as Event Coordinator and the Forest Avenue Street Captain. Ron graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Marketing. He worked 26 years in various marketing management positions with Chevrolet Motor Division.

Ron works well with City Council Members promoting programs that benefit Avondale Residents. He was responsible for getting the City to install a Crosswalk for the Beechwood on Forest Avenue and he worked with Metro Officials in keeping Metro Route 46 service to Findlay Market. He implemented the first ever Avondale Day at the Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds.

Vision for Avondale: Keep pace with the Avondale Mission. Promote Avondale as a community to live in, work in, worship in, and enjoy the overall atmosphere of living in Avondale with Avondale Residents. His goals include emphasis on helping our youth get an education, obtaining jobs, and staying in Avondale, plus making sure that seniors are taken care of by providing the programs that they need.
